Michelle Fadeley, a Joliet resident, announced her intention to run for the 37th District seat in the Illinois General Assembly during a campaign kick-off at Stray Bar, 17 Old Frankfort Way in Frankfort, Saturday, Sept. 21.

Fadeley is the first Democrat to announce a bid for the soon-to-be vacated seat by current State Rep. Margo McDermed. Fadeley joins New Lenox Mayor Tim Baldermann and Ozinga Vice President Tim Ozinga, both Republicans, as early candidates ahead of the primaries scheduled for March.
