A New Lenox family is learning the value of community after losing their belongings in a Friday, Sept. 12, house fire.

Buoyed by the support shown to them by helpful neighbors, Debbie Jankowski and her daughters Sydney, 15, and Skyler, 16, describe the effort as “overwhelming.”

“We are so grateful for our neighbors and what they are doing for us,” Debbie said of the collection of clothing, toiletries and household goods her neighbors presented to her.
