Having shared her love of movement with thousands of south-suburban students over decades of classes, instructor Chris Johnson is gracefully hanging up her dancing shoes.

As a tribute, the park districts of Mokena, Frankfort and New Lenox produced 50 Years of Favorites, Johnson’s swan song as an instructor, director and choreographer. The show was held Sunday, May 18, at the Lincoln-Way East Fine Arts Center.

“It’s time to do something different, but dance will always be something very special to me,” said Johnson, an Orland Park resident.
