After months of fundraising and some setbacks, New Lenox resident Max Benedict, 17, had the chance to see his efforts pay off.

With the help of fellow Scouts and parents, Benedict coordinated the building of a pavilion for the Will County Humane Society in Shorewood on Saturday, June 14, for his Eagle Scout service project.
