Providence Catholic High School graduate Tyler Martinkus should enjoy his summer break, as he has spent the last few years working hard to achieve the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. 

Martinkus, a member of Boy Scout Troop 725 achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on Dec. 15 of last year. He received his badge in a June 1 court of honor ceremony at the Mokena VFW Post 725 on Wolf Road. 

“I knew it was something not many people do,” Martinkus said. “It would be nice to say, ‘hey, I’m an Eagle Scout,’ and few others could say that.”
