Although the past winter encouraged many to run from the Illinois climate, area residents met in the New Lenox Village Commons on Veterans Parkway for the Chasing the Sun 5K Race and Fitness Walk, an annual event hosted by the New Lenox Chamber of Commerce and the New Lenox Community Park District, on Thursday, June 5.

Beautiful, late-spring weather allowed runners and walkers the opportunity to shake off cabin fever and begin the summer in a healthy manner.
