Girl Scout Troop #78 spent two months collecting books from their own collections and from the community for its Books for Life service project.

The girls collected more than 1,600 books to provide needy families with personal libraries. They decorated a bookshelf, placed it in the lobby of the New Lenox Township Food Pantry and filled it with books. Families visiting the food pantry can choose books from the shelf to take home and create their own reading
libraries.
